Helen Thomas, White House reporter, issued an apology on Friday after the comment she made regarding Israel when asked by Rabbi David Nesenoff on May 27 during Jewish Heritage Day. “Tell them to get the hell out of Palestine”, was her well thought-out response. It seems the inside of Helen Thomas is just as hideous as the outside of her.

“I deeply regret my comments I made last week regarding the Israelis and the Palestinians, they do not reflect my heartfelt belief that peace will come to the Middle East only when all parties recognize the need for mutual respect and tolerance. May that day come soon.”
~written statement from Helen Thomas

An apology does not unring the bell. It was more obligatory than a heart-felt atonement. With age must come the fluent truth of true feelings. Her deep regret is that her comments were made public.

The time for this senior citizen to retire has long since come and gone. Her rants have become the ravings of senility. Other than possibly a twisted form of nostalgia for some she no longer has anything of substance to offer.

Maybe her next declaration will be that all Americans should “go home”.

Really now.

It would appear that Chris Matthews has his panties pulled too tight which is apparently causing him to have a memory lapse. Does he not remember referring to the Bush administration as a regime?

“Let’s go to the Reverend Al Sharpton.”
“Reverend Sharpton, what do you make of this letter and this panoply of the left condemning the Bush regime?”
~June 14, 2002, Chris Matthews during a panel discussion about a letter signed by many prominent leftists condemning the Bush administration’s conduct of the war on terror.

Well, well, well.

It’s clear that the credibility train has left the station when it comes to Chris Matthews. This is a man so desperate for a TV rating he will make any kind of pathetic, verbal utterance in the hope that someone will give him some attention so that he does not slide further into obscurity. At the very least his ranting equates to journalistic incompetence.

Is there someone in America that actually watches this doofus. If so, they probably don’t admit it.

You Chris Matthews are the walrus underwater and you make about as much sense as the lyrics to the Beatles song I Am the Walrus.

goo goo g’joob

An ongoing major military offensive in Afghanistan, the Olympics in Vancouver, the plight of Haitians after the earthquake, Iranian nuclear proliferation all take a back seat to the big news event today – a statement from Tiger Woods.

Now here is poor Tiger emerging from sex addiction rehab to make a public apology and the main stream news media is having a collective orgy. It has been the lead story and reported in a fevered pant on evening news broadcasts as well as morning news programs all week long. I ask you, is that fair? It’s kind of like giving booze to an alcoholic. This man is struggling with infidelity and the news journalists are having an anticipatory orgasm over his impending statement to the world.

Tiger owes me no apologies. What Tiger did or didn’t do does not affect my life in any way. Most of America as well as the world will not be changed because of Tiger’s promiscuity or his apology today. In fact, I’m a firm believer that it is nobody’s business outside of his family. They are the ones that will be affected and have to deal with it in their own way.

There’s no doubt we can expect to be bludgeoned with nonstop commentary in which Tiger’s every word will be picked over and analyzed. What really needs to happen is after Tiger’s catharsis today the news media should take a collective cold shower and then get back to the news that does affect us all.

Was not sure if I was viewing a Presidential inauguration or a reenactment of 1967′s “Summer of Love”. News journalists were doing more slobbering and love-panting over Barack Obama than a high school football team at Hugh Hefner’s Playboy mansion.

The last four days have seen a 24 hours a day marathon of accolades for the incoming President with each news outlet trying to outdo the other. It’s a sure bet that the news media will be giving President Obama a “free ride.” We are entering the era of journalistic and political utopia. There will be no condemnation or questioning of any policy that is handed down from this administration. Every decision will be accepted without question. And any utterance from the mouth of Obama will be treated as if it were the Sermon on the Mount.

Let’s consummate this marriage between Obama and the press and quickly move on past the honeymoon. National and world problems are waiting to be solved. There’s a whole lot of promises that have been made but no proven history to base them on.
