Putin Does Georgia

With Russia’s recent military venture Putin is having his way with Georgia. Here is a sampling of what political leaders have to say,
President Bush: “Georgia is a sovereign nation and its territorial integrity must be respected. We have urged an immediate halt to the violence and a stand-down by all troops. We call for an end to the Russian bombings, and a return by the parties to the status quo of August the 6th.”
Senator McCain: “Russia should immediately and unconditionally cease its military operations and withdraw all forces from sovereign Georgian territory.”
Senator Obama: “I strongly condemn the outbreak of violence in Georgia, and urge an immediate end to armed conflict.”
If it wasn’t so serious this rhetoric would be laughable. Is there someone out there that really thinks Putin is quivering with fright from all this tough talk? In fact, he is a former card-carrying member of the KGB, this does not stand for Kind, Generous and Beloved. He and his cronies must be “high fiving” and back slapping each other having carefully calculated their incursion into Georgia. They are well aware that no one is going to stop or challenge them. Russia will do as it pleases, when it pleases and as long as it pleases regardless of what the rest of the world thinks or says. When Putin is done ravishing Georgia he will leave.
