Doctors Make A (White) House Call
Apparently there are some doctors eager to make a (White) House call in order to endorse the Obama health care reform plan. The President had them play dress up and commented they looked “spiffy” in their coats which was a little corny and a bit over the top. How many actually brought their own lab coats and who were they trying to impress?
The question that begs to be answered is how many doctors that attended this “dog and pony show” are willing to accept a possible decrease in pay while taking on an increased patient load under a government health care plan? Instead of the standard 15 minute HMO office visit it may have to drop down to 5 minutes to accomodate the conveyor belt of patients that are not currently covered.
As has become the norm, this gathering was big on showmanship but had very little substance in the way of something new. The President regurgitated the same old lines that encompass the realm of his health care plan with the doctors responding in kind with occassional applause.
Are we to belive that the majority of doctors are onboard the Obamacare bandwagon or was this staged event a conceived perception for the benefit of those weak-minded individuals that are unable to draw a conclusion on their own and need to be swayed?
