Swindlers, Shysters, Scoundrels, Scallywags and Scam Artists

No, it’s not your local jail. This group of miscreants are your political representatives. They did not ascend to political power because they were nice people. Americans voted these politicians into office placing trust in their judgement that they would always put their constituents interest ahead of any personal agenda or gain.

At 1:00 AM Monday morning the people’s trust was compromised after the health care reform bill was passed by the Senate. The back room deals in order to reach the 60 votes needed are nothing less than shameful if not downright contemptible. Democrats call it compromise. Republicans call it bribery. Constituents can call it skullduggery.

“I don’t know if there is a senator that doesn’t have something in this bill that was important to them. And if they don’t have something in it important to them, then it doesn’t speak well of them.”
~Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev)

What happens to the states whose Senators were not savvy enough to broker a back-room deal? Let’s not forget Republicans that were completely left out of any negotiations. Are they the losers? Yes, those states will have to pick up the tab that did not have a Senator with the shrewdness to threaten a nay vote unless Harry Reid and his gang of cronies sweetened the pot.

Florida Flim Flam: A deal to grandfather Medicare advantage enrollees in Florida – apprx $5 Billion.
Louisiana Purchase: $300 Million in Medicaid funding for Louisiana.
Cornhusker Kickback: The Federal Government will now fund Nebraska’s new Medicaid recipients forever…yes folks, forever!!
~Senator John Mccain on Twitter

How about some more.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, gained some medicaid help as well as $10 billion for his favorite project of community health centers throughout the country. Sen. Chris Dodd will be building a new hospital in Connecticut for a mere $100 million.

Dare we ask if anyone has read this entire new bill? Doubtful. If so, there is sure to be more hidden deals discovered among the 2,000 plus pages of this abomination.

Swindlers, shysters, scoundrels, scallywags and scam artists. Enough said.
