Mistakes, Hiccups and Distractions

Timothy Geithner is Barack Obama’s choice for Treasury Secretary. Since then it’s been reported that Geitner had made a “common mistake” in failing to pay taxes. And then there was the little matter of employing an illegal immigrant as a housekeeper. Senator Harry Reid described these issues as “mere distractions and hiccups”.

“Honest mistake”, “innocent mistake”, “common mistake” are all terms used by Democrats to justify Geitner’s actions or inactions. One can only assume that these are the kind of “mistakes” that do not apply to “common” folks.

President Bush’s nomination choices were chewed up, condemned for life and crucified for similiar “mistakes”. Once again we have to endure the liberal double standards that only they can justify so well.

With the Treasury Secretary being responsible for the IRS is this the fox guarding the hen house? Confirmation is assured.
