We The Peasants

The will of the people and the voting majority is thwarted yet once again. U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker overturned California’s same-sex marriage ban, Proposition 8, ruling that it was unconstitutional. Could it be possible that there was some bias on this ruling considering Judge Walker himself is gay? It would appear that this is one man’s crusade against the masses that number in the millions. After all, California voters passed the ban after the state Supreme Court legalized gay marriage. When one individual can overrule the voting millions the intoxicating power must be overwhelming. This goes far beyond whether you are for or against gay marriage.

There was another snub of voters this week. Missouri voters rejected a mandate that they buy health insurance as required in the Democrats’ healthcare reform bill. White House press secretary Robert Gibbs dismissed the votes of these Missouri citizens in a display of arrogance indicating that these hicks, hayseeds and hillbillies don’t know any better. Asked what it means that over 71 percent of voters in Missouri would vote against the health care mandate Gibbs sniffed, “Nothing.”

“This arrogance and political tone deafness from the Obama White House is simply astounding. That the White House has shown such blatant disregard for the votes cast by Missourians as ‘nothing’ is startling, and it should make clear just how out-of-touch the Obama Administration and Democrats are with average Americans.”
~Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas)

Polls indicate that the majority of Americans reject the new health care law. It was ramrodded through Congress against the will of the American majority under the guise of the high and mighty Democratic party knowing better than the citizens of their constituencies.

The absolute arrogance of this country’s leadership is repugnant. It appears we are entering an era when the power of the people’s vote is becoming meaningless. Will all voting in this country eventually become moot when the vote does not meet the desires and expectations of those already in power? We little people need guidance from our ignorance from those in high office. Without this guidance from lofty political positions we the peasants will flounder in our liberty and freedom.
